How can I print in proper formatting? I have used the lpadmin command
woth some generic arguments with limited success. Cannon does not
provide a ppd file for this make and model of printer for Solaris.

Someone suggested I print to the windows print server attached to this
printer, however from Solaris I can print directly to the IP - the
printout is all bad though...lines are cut off etc.

Have you tried the PPD for Canon's ImageRunner 330s?
Its possible that newer ImageRunner model family printers are
backwards compatible.

How did you configure the Windows print server?

How did you configure Solaris to print to the Windows print server?

John,

Thanks for sticking out with me, I appreciate it. Someone else
configured the windows print server and someone else configured
Solaris to print to the windows print server, they left no
documentation. Maybe I can do a truss on a "lp -d <printer name> <file
name> and hope to pick up any options he specified on the command
input.

Lets see the Canon's entry in printers.conf(4).

How is the Canon physically connected to the Windows Print Server?

Do you have Administrator privilege on the Windows Server?

I will try to get the Canon's entry in printers.conf
I believe the canon is connected to the network and so is the windows
print server - they both have IP"s.
I don't have admin privilege on the windows print server.

Can you reach 515/tcp or 9100/tcp on the Canon from your Solaris
system?
