Post by g***@gmail.comGroup, I need to take the Oracle Solaris Certified Associate exam
(1zo-876), does anyone know of any good resources to prepare for this
exam?
TIA
At one time Sun offered training in various subjects of interest to
those who needed it. When I took Some Sun Courses about ten years ago,
a five day course cost about $2K. It's probably more now!!! That $2K
is tuition only! Travel, meals, lodging, etc. are in addition!
OTOH, you get an instructor who knows the subject; someone who can and
will answer questions. You also get some "hands on" experience with
hardware and software. You get course materials: text book, exercises,
etc, that you can, and should, keep!
You should consider some practical experience in a "live" environment to
be mandatory.
See if you can find some Sun hardware for sale on e-Bay. If you can get
two or three Sun workstations you can set up your own home laboratory!
You can install and configure Solaris, set up a home network, etc, etc.
This lets you make stupid mistakes and learn what not to do. You will
learn how to clean up the mess you just made. . . .
Note that Solaris runs on both the SPARC and X86 platforms. You should
be familiar with both.
